Delicious, Nutritious Recipes for V Health

Reposted from our friends at Lark Love

Do you know what I love? Crossing two things off of my list at the same time. For example: Returning emails WHILE riding the bike at the gym. Or it could be a much more entertaining time, like catching up with an old friend WHILE checking out the new restaurant I'd been dying to try.

So, along those lines- how about a truly delicious meal that is designed to be great for vaginal health? Share this at a Menopause celebration, because you're having bacterial issues, because you care about your body AND because you just want a great meal.

Both Recipes are to feed four, but can easily be halved, or quartered for a Solo Celebration.

Pair Strawberry Avocado Green Salad with this Cranberry Salmon, sparkling water or sparkling wine!

Strawberry Avocado Green Salad

This luxurious salad has three ways to make your vagina happier. Avocados are full of healthy unsaturated fats, potassium and B6. They can boost libido, strengthen your vaginal walls and even enhance lubrication. Leafy greens contain dietary nitrates, which increase circulation and help to prevent vaginal dryness. Strawberries, high in Vitamin C are proven to ward off vaginal infection. Put them together you’ve got a very Happy Vagina Salad.

Prep time 10 minutes

Total times 10 minutes

Ingredients

1 lb box of baby kale (or baby spinach if you can’t find baby kale)

1 lb box strawberries- organic preferred, sliced

½ red onion, sliced very thin

3 ripe avocados, cubed

1 c goat cheese

1 c pecans, toasted

¼ c chocolate balsamic vinegar

½ c extra virgin olive oil

S & P

Fill a big salad bowl with greens. Or fill four plates for individual salads.

De-stem and slice all strawberries, you should get about 4 slices out of little berries, 6 or so out of bigger ones. Spread strawberries across greens.

Slice red onion as thin as you are able. Place in a bowl of ice cold water for 5 minutes to remove spiciness. Add to salad.

Cube avocados, add to salad.

Slice goat cheese into rounds or crumbles, add.

To toast pecans, put in a small pan over medium heat and shake until toasted, just a few minutes. Top Salad with Pecans.

Drizzle oil and vinegar.

Season salad liberally with salt and pepper, especially avocados.

Cranberry Salmon with Cilantro Lime sauce

This dish keeps your vagina happy in two ways.

You might have heard that Cranberries are great for warding off UTI’s, but did you know that Salmon can be a tasty component of a Happy Vagina Diet? The Omega-3 fatty acids and high dose of Vitamin D are both effective aids in healthy blood circulation, and better blood flow keeps Vaginas happier. Bonus- This flavorful recipe will be appreciated by vagina and non-vagina owning members of the family alike. So good paired with roasted potatoes and a big portion of Strawberry Avocado green salad.

Prep Time 20 minutes

Cooking Time 10 minutes

Total time 30 minutes

 Serves four

Ingredients:

Four Wild Salmon Fillets (approx.. 6 oz each)

½ c. Honey/maple syrup

½ c soy sauce

½ cup cranberry juice

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 Tbsp kosher salt

1 tbsp black pepper

1 tsp cayenne- optional

2 cloves garlic

½ c sunflower seeds

1 bunch cilantro

½ c lime juice

1 c olive oil

1 tsp kosher salt

1 tsp black pepper

Preheat Oven to 425

In baking dish, arrange salmon fillets, skin side up. Combine the next four ingredients, and pour over fillets to marinade for 15 minutes.

While they soak, add the next six ingredients to food processor, one by one, in the order listed.

Pour out ½ of the marinade into a small saucepan. Flip the Salmon fillets over, skin side down and place in the heated oven.

Salmon will cook approximately 10 minutes, check it with a fork in the thickest spot to make sure it easily flakes. If it is still shiny and solid, give it a couple more minutes. (Careful not to overcook!)

While Salmon bakes, stir the remaining marinade over high heat.

Plate Salmon by pouring the heated marinade over each fillet, followed by a healthy dollop of Cilantro Lime sauce on top. You will have Cilantro Lime sauce leftover, unless you’ve paired your Salmon with a yummy starch like rice or potatoes, in which case, you’ll want to top them too.
